Matt is a nationally recognized expert in wetland mitigation, endangered species issues, and environmental permitting. A Professional Wetland Scientist with more than 20 years of experience, he specializes in helping clients navigate complex regulatory requirements while developing effective mitigation and restoration strategies.
Matt has worked extensively with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service on mitigation-related projects. His expertise spans Clean Water Act permitting, Endangered Species Act consultations, National Environmental Policy Act evaluations, mitigation banking, permittee-responsible mitigation, and environmental compliance for large infrastructure and development projects.
Matt has led multidisciplinary teams on projects across the United States, supporting industries that include water resources, energy, transportation, telecommunications, mining, and land development. He has played key roles in the design, implementation, and monitoring of wetland mitigation banks and large-scale habitat restoration initiatives, including major reservoir mitigation programs in Texas.
Matt is a past president of the Society of Wetland Scientists South Central Chapter and remains active in advancing the science and practice of mitigation and restoration. He focuses on developing practical, durable solutions that balance regulatory requirements with meaningful environmental outcomes.
